The source material
Anatolian folklore and Sufi mythology provide a cast and a moral grammar that already deal in balance, stewardship and consequence.
Original screenplayWorkstream 05 / Animation
Green Hand is an animated feature built on Anatolian folklore and Sufi mythology, carrying climate narratives to audiences that research papers and policy briefings will never reach.
Start a conversationEvidence changes decisions. Stories change what people are willing to decide about. The climate transition has no shortage of the first and a serious shortage of the second.
Animation is OCTD’s fifth workstream: a deliberate attempt to work on climate culture rather than only climate policy. It draws on the same research base as the rest of our work, and on a methodology for AI-assisted animation production that makes a feature of this ambition achievable at an independent scale.
The work runs through a separate production entity, with grant funding, production services and licensing as its routes to revenue.
Green Hand
A culturally rooted narrative rather than an issue film — the climate stakes are carried by the story, not bolted onto it.

Trailer completeWhere it stands
Animation is the youngest of our five workstreams. The trailer exists; the feature does not yet. What we are building now is the production partnerships, co-financing and distribution conversations that a feature requires.
If you work in production, co-financing, broadcast or distribution — or you fund climate communication and cultural work — this is the right moment to talk.
Discuss the projectWhat we are looking for
Production partners and studios with feature experience.
Co-financing and grant routes for cultural and climate communication work.
Distribution and broadcast partners in the UK, Europe and Türkiye.
Brands and institutions for whom climate storytelling is a serious objective rather than a campaign line.
Tell us how you work in production, financing or distribution and we will share the trailer and the current plan.
