Who we are

Research at heart.
Progress in practice.

We are the Oxford Centre for Technology and Development: researchers, analysts, operators, strategists and builders connecting climate technology with the conditions it needs to succeed.

The gap
we work on.

Climate technology rarely fails only in the laboratory. It can struggle between pilot and market when financing and ownership models do not fit the task.

We explore that gap through five connected workstreams: Knowledge & Convening, Materials, Artificial Intelligence, Climate Finance and Animation. They share a research base, a network and a focus on practical commercialisation.

Our portfolio spans 14 ventures across eight countries, in energy, materials, hydrogen, agritech and the circular economy. From our Oxford base, we work with representatives in Türkiye and Indonesia and partners across emerging and frontier markets.

Our approach

Presence matters.

Deploying technology means understanding a place: the people, the market, the available evidence and the institutions that can act.
